Sundance is a town in Crook County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 1,161 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.2 km² (2.0 mi²). 5.2 km² (2.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.50% is water. According to Time Magazine, it was honored for a Lakota First Nation rite in which young warriors adorn themselves to a personally owned eagle claw which during the rite's dance is ripped from their chest to sacrifice themselves in this test of strength to their creator.

In the town the population was spread out with 24.1% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 24.7% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 21.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.4 males.
