Peru is a town in Bennington County, Vermont, United States. The population was 416 at the 2000 census. Originally known as Bromley, the town name was changed to Peru by the land grantees as a way of attracting land buyers to an area that had been described as "36 square miles of trees and bears."

Bromley Mountain is a mountain in the Green Mountains of southern Vermont, United States. It is located in Bennington County, seven miles to the east of Manchester, Vermont and just west of Peru, Vermont. It is a popular destination for such sports as skiing and snowboarding.

Founded by the son of the famous Captain Frederick Pabst (also the founder of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer), Bromley Mountain is the only southern facing ski mountain in all of Vermont, meaning that Bromley gets more sunshine than any other ski area in Vermont, giving it its nickname of "The Sun Mountain." Bromley is home to 44 different trails, and nine different lifts. While having a wide variety of trails ranging from easiest (green circle) up to an experts only (double black diamond) and everything in between. Bromley was rated number one in family programs in all of North America by SKI Magazine. Locals have their own little escape from flatlanders when the trail lines grow thick with "snow bunnies, sheep feet, and pink ladies" called the east side. This is where one can find such trails as Corkscrew, Pushover, (Pabst) Panic and Peril, Blue Ribbon, Stargazer, and Havoc. The east side is accessible via a slower moving quad, thus keeping the more "spoiled" skiers away.
