Salado is a census-designated place (CDP) in Bell County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,475 at the 2000 census.

George Washington Baines, a prominent Baptist clergyman in three states and the maternal great-grandfather of U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson, lived in Salado in his last years. Baines' home is a national historic landmark.

Salado is best known for great Texas shopping in more than 100 shopping venues including ladies' and men's clothiers, fine jewelery stores, home decor and furniture stores, garden shops, antique stores, gift shops and numerous fine art galleries.
