Gatlinburg is a city in Sevier County, Tennessee, with a total population of 3,828, as of the 2000 U.S. census. The city is a popular vacation resort, as it rests on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park along U.S. Highway 441, which connects Gatlinburg to Cherokee, North Carolina through the national park. Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains feature a beautiful spot of pampered civilization nestled in one of the last tracts of unspoiled wilderness in the eastern United States.

Explore the new 1.3 million gallon Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, ride the country's largest aerial tram to the top of Ober Gatlinburg, shop at over 400 unique shops, galleries and boutiques or travel the 8-mile loop of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, the largest gathering of independent artisans in the country.

Downtown Gatlinburg is a key tourism destination in Tennessee. It not only contains many man-made attractions but borders the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Ober Gatlinburg serves as both a ski resort and an amusement park. Dollywood and Dollywood's Splash Country which are both named after the famous Dolly Parton and are located in Pigeon Forge, are nearby amusement parks.

A few music and family-oriented theaters make their homes in Gatlinburg as well, including Country Tonite Theatera show for the entire family, and the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre, which hosts a musical comedy.
