Clinton is a city in Laurens County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 8,091 at the 2000 census and center of an urban cluster with a total population of 10,155. Clinton is located at 34.471257, -81.875023. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 23.7 km² (9.1 mi²). 23.5 km² (9.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.55%) is water.
