Lock Haven is a city in and the county seat of Clinton County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 1900, 7,210 people lived in Lock Haven. in 1910, 7,772. in 1940, 10,810. In 1982, about 8,500; 2,500 of whom were college students at Lock Haven University. In the 2000 census, the population was 9,149.

The city of Lock Haven is located at 41.134388, -77.450347, in northern Pennsylvania, on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River. It is 24 miles (39 km) west-southwest of Williamsport. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.9 km² (2.7 mi²). 6.5 km² (2.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (5.64%) is water.

In the city the population was spread out with 16.7% under the age of 18, 33.2% from 18 to 24, 20.3% from 25 to 44, 14.4% from 45 to 64, and 15.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 25 years. For every 100 females there were 82.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.5 males.
