Vinita is a city in south-central Craig County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 6,472 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Craig County. It was also the first permanent settlement in Oklahoma. Vinita is located at 36.641193, -95.156676. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.3 km² (4.3 mi²), all land. Vinita is located in south central Craig County.
