Norman, Oklahoma, is the county seat and largest city in Cleveland County in the U.S. state of Oklahoma, and is part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Norman is best known as the location of the University of Oklahoma, making it a center of culture, technology, and scientific research. Norman is one of the world's most prominent centers of meteorology. The city is home to many National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration organizations (including a National Weather Service Forecast Office that serves central Oklahoma and western North Texas), and the university's meteorology department is one of the most highly regarded in the world. The NOAA and University meteorological agencies and departments are housed within the newly-opened National Weather Center, located in the south part of the City along State Highway 9.

Norman is also home to the university-operated Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, (one of the largest of its kind) and the Fred Jones, Jr. Museum of Art, which made news in 2001 when it was given the Weitzenhoffer Collection, the single most important collection of impressionist art ever given to an American university, including works by Mary Cassatt, Vincent van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Camille Pissarro, among others.
