Montpelier is a village in Williams County, Ohio, United States. The population was 4,320 at the 2000 census. Montpelier is located at 41.582981, -84.604204. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 7.0 km² (2.7 mi²), all land.

In the village the population was spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 27.6% from 25 to 44, 19.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 90.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males.

In 2006, Montpelier won the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting competition for its municipal water supply. Montpelier triumphed over cities as diverse as Sparwood, British Columbia and Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Montpelier is also the birthplace of Paul Allen Siple, arctic explorer and the man who coined the term "wind chill".
