Franklin is a city in Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 11,396 at the 2000 census. Franklin is the home of the Franklin campus of Southwestern College. Franklin is located at 39.561250, -84.301575. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 24.1 km² (9.3 mi²). 23.6 km² (9.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (2.25%) is water.

Franklin and the surrounding areas offer an array of attractions to suit all tastes. A year-round driving range and a nine-hole public golf course are located within the city, and additional golf facilities are located nearby, including those at The Golf Center at Kings Island.

Several state parks are within easy access of Franklin; Caesar Creek State Park, Fort Ancient State Park, Hueston Woods State Park, and the Little Miami State Park (a nationally designated scenic river) are all nearby. Paramount's Kings Island Amusement Center and The Beach Waterpark are approximately 30 minutes from Franklin.

High Education: The Cincinnati-Dayton area is rich with opportunities for higher education, with a number of readily-accessible colleges and universities. Universities in the area include Central State University, Miami University, The University of Cincinnati, The University of Dayton, Wilberforce University, Wright State University, and Xavier University.
