Franklin is a city in Warren County, Ohio, United States. The population was 11,396 at the 2000 census. Franklin is the home of the Franklin campus of Southwestern College. Franklin is located at 39.561250, -84.301575. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 24.1 km² (9.3 mi²). 23.6 km² (9.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (2.25%) is water.

Paramount's Kings Island Amusement Center and The Beach Waterpark are approximately 30 minutes from Franklin.

Universities in the area include Central State University, Miami University, The University of Cincinnati, The University of Dayton, Wilberforce University, Wright State University, and Xavier University.
