Victor is a town in Ontario County, New York, USA. The population was 9,977 at the 2000 census. The town is named after Claudius Victor Boughton, a hero of the War of 1812.

The Town of Victor contains a village, also called Victor. The town is in the northwest corner of Ontario County and is southeast of Rochester.

The town is the site of an important Seneca village Gannagaro, but the tribe abandoned the village and the area about it after a conflict with French invaders in 1687.

Victor was in the Phelps and Gorham Purchase. Pioneer settlement began aroung 1789. The Town of Victor was formed from part of the Town of Bloomfield in 1812.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 93.1 km² (36.0 mi²). 93.1 km² (35.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.0 km² (0.0 mi²) of it (0.03%) is water.

The west and north town lines are the border of Monroe County.

The New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) passes across the north part of the town and intersects Interstate 490 east of Fishers. New York State Route 96 is primarily an east-west highway, but turns north west of Victor village. New York State Route 251 connects the west part of Victor to Monroe County. New York State Route 444 runs south from Victor village.
