Uniondale is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Nassau County, New York, United States, on Long Island, in the Town of Hempstead. The population was 23,011 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.9 km² (2.7 mi²), all land. It's a diverse hamlet, but neighbors places like Hempstead, Roosevelt, Freeport, and East Meadow.

Uniondale is home to the NHL's New York Islanders and the New York Dragons of the Arena Football League, both of whom play at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. It is also home to the Mitchel Athletic Complex which hosts the Long Island Rough Riders, an amateur soccer team, and the Major League Lacrosse's Long Island Lizards. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball is also looking into having a team in Uniondale. This will only go through if the coliseum renovation and redevelopment starts, but as for now there is going to be no minor league team in Uniondale in the foreseeable future. A team in Uniondale would make a rival for the Long Island Ducks which are located in Central Islip, NY.
