Winnemucca is the county seat of Humboldt County in the U.S. state of Nevada and the site of a September 19, 1900 bank robbery by the Wild Bunch. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 7,174. Interstate 80 passes through the city, and is the site of a split/join of I-80 and U.S. Highway 95.

The City Park consists of 65.4 acres of grass, trees and assorted playground equipment. There are bar-b-que pits, covered picnic areas, horseshoe pits, a volleyball net and is directly connected to the little league baseball parks and the newly constructed skatepark. The indoor swimming pool and golf course are within walking distance to the park.
