Taos Ski Valley is a village and alpine ski resort in Taos County, New Mexico, US. It is one of few to prohibit snowboarding. Taos Ski Valley is located at 36.597724, -105.445051. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.1 km² (2.4 mi²), with no surface water, and yet anyone walking through the village can plainly see a rushing stream over which several pedestrian bridges have been constructed. And anyone skiing the long runout below Kachina Peak can see the rushing headwaters of the same waterway, the Rio Hondo.
