Scotts Bluff National Monument - Towering eight hundred feet above the North Platte River, Scotts Bluff has been a natural landmark for many peoples, and it served as the path marker for those on the Oregon, California, Mormon, and Pony Express Trails. Scotts Bluff National Monument preserves 3,000 acres of unusual land formations which rise over the otherwise flat prairieland below.

Riverside Park and Zoo - is a park and zoo complex along the North Platte River in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, USA. Riverside Park is Scottsbluff's city park, and has the only zoo in Western Nebraska. Riverside Park features three lakes with many different camping and recreation areas as well as a riverside trail which runs along the banks of the North Platte River. Riverside Zoo also offers an enriching botanical experience with over 30 garden spots bursting with the blooms of the season.

D. A. Murphy Panhandle Arboretum - is an arboretum located at the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center, 4502 Avenue I, Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

The Arboretum was established in 1984 as the University of Nebraska Panhandle Arboretum, and in 1985 recognized as a Nebraska Statewide Arboretum affiliate. In 1987 the Arboretum was awarded a generous endowment from local businessman D. A. Murphy's estate and renamed in his honor.

Scottsbuff is home of Western Nebraska Community College.
