Haw River is a town in Alamance County, North Carolina, United States. It is part of the Burlington, North Carolina Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,908 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 6.9 km² (2.7 mi²). 6.9 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.38% is water. The town formerly supported a textile mill producing enormous quantities of corduroy but is primarily a residential area today.

In the town the population was spread out with 23.5% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 15.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
