Sikeston is a city in Scott County, Missouri and New Madrid County, Missouri. The Sikeston Micropolitan Statistical Area consists of Scott County with a population of 41,143. Sikeston is located at 36.879570, -89.585172. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 46.9 km² (18.1 mi²). 46.4 km² (17.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (0.94%) is water. The city is situated upon the Sikeston Sand Ridge which runs north and south from Benton to East Prairie.
