Saint Clair is a city in Franklin County, Missouri, United States. The population was 4,390 at the 2000 census. Saint Clair is located at 38.349654, -90.982812. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.1 km² (3.1 mi²). 8.1 km² (3.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.32% is water.

William Kerr founded the city in 1859. It is named after a railroad engineer surnamed Saint Clair. The city was originally known as Travelers Repose. Today it has the distinction of being one of the towns along the Historic Route 66. It is also well known in the area of having not one but two water towers, humorously labeled "Hot" and "Cold," respectively.

In the city the population was spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 18.0% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 88.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.5 males.
