Ava is a city in Douglas County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,021 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Douglas County. Ava is located at 36.955176, -92.663114. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.0 km² (3.1 mi²), all land.

Points of Interest:
The Douglas County Museum - was built in 1882 by Frank Wilson who built four other homes exactly like it in Douglas County about the same time. The museum is located 1 1/2 blocks east of the Ava square on Highway 14. Hours are 10 AM to 3 PM each Saturday. Antique items are on display and researchers can receive help with their genealogical queries.

The Ava Fine Arts Gallery & Museum - is located at 307 E. Washington Ave. Admission is free. Open other days by appointment. A rare collection of English brasses, facsimiles and rubbings dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries are on exhibit. Come in and make your own rubbing.

Glade Top Trial, Hercules Glades Wilderness and Swan Creek Territory. The Glade Top Trail begins some five miles south of Ava in the beautiful Mark Twain National Forest is a high ridge road covering some 25 miles or more of beautiful panoramas. The trail runs through an area well populated with deer, wild turkeys and many other animals making the planned tour among the most scenic in the nation in any season.
