Roseau is a city in Roseau County, Minnesota, USA. The population was 2,756 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Roseau County. Hayes Lake State Park is nearby. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²).

Attractions:
Bemis Hill - Located approximately 20 miles southeast of Roseau on Roseau County Road 5, Bemis Hill is a popular camping and recreation area in the Roseau region. Situated in the northwest corner of the Beltrami Island State Forest the recreation area provides facilities for camping, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, skiing, ski tours, snowmobiling, and snowshoeing. This is also the most popular sledding hill in the northwest region.

Wildflowers & Wildlife - A wildflower celebration in June pays tribute to this colorful splendor. Pick up self-guided wildflower maps from the area information centers. In addition to wildflowers, blueberries, juneberries, and wild strawberries grow in abundance along the roadways and forest areas.

Bird Watching - Over 250 species of birds have been recorded in this area including some highly sought after birds like: the Great Gray Owl, Gyrfalcon, Boreal Owl, Yellow Rail, Snowy Owl, Northern Hawk Owl, Northern Saw-whet Owl, Spruce Grouse, Three-toed Woodpecker, Black-backed Woodpecker, and the Connecticut Warbler.

Snowmobiling- In the winter the snowmobile is king. With thousands of miles of groomed trails and ample snowfall, northwest Minnesota provides some of the best snowmobiling in the state. Trails from Roseau connect to trails in all directions and to all different types of terrain.
