Melrose is a city in Stearns County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 3,091 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.6 km² (3.0 mi²). 7.3 km² (2.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (4.07%) is water.

This is debate between locals where North Melrose, as compared to South Melrose, exists. North Melrose is generally the newer part of town with more developments, with South Melrose expanding slowly near the golf course. Some people divide the city at the river, or some divide it at Main Street. The divide has sparked debate as to whether the rich compared to the poor live or to where the notable athletes in town grow up.

There are many parks, lakes, and rivers in and around the area offer fishing opportunities, canoeing, boating, and swimming beaches. Camping facilities as well as cabin rental and hiking are also available. Several City parks have picnic shelters, playground equipment, volleyball courts and horseshoe pits. The Sauk River Park, located in the heart of the Melrose community, has camping sites as well as electrical hookup sites.
