Baudette is a city in Lake of the Woods County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 1,104 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Lake of the Woods County. The city is located along the Rainy River at its confluence with the Baudette River. It lies across the Rainy River from the town of Rainy River, Ontario and southeast of the Lake of the Woods.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.6 km² (3.7 mi²). 8.5 km² (3.3 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it (11.29%) is water.

In the city the population was spread out with 24.7% under the age of 18, 5.9% from 18 to 24, 23.0% from 25 to 44, 21.9% from 45 to 64, and 24.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females there were 86.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.2 males.
