Birch Run is a village in Saginaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,653 at the 2000 census. The village is located within Birch Run Township. Birch Run is home to one of the largest outlet malls in the United States. This mall, along with the proximity of the tourist mecca of Frankenmuth, makes the Birch Run area a busy place. Birch Run is also the home of the Great Lakes Storm one of the powerhouses of the Continental Basketball Association. The Storm play in the popular Expo Center, which hosts many unique events including dog shows, gun and knife exhibitions, and numerous trade shows.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 5.0 km² (1.9 mi²), all land.

In the village the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 34.5% from 25 to 44, 17.8% from 45 to 64, and 11.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 89.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.4 males.
