Paia (pah-ee-ah) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, on the northern coast of the island of Maui. The population was 2,499 at the 2000 census. Paia features several restaurants as well as art galleries, surf shops, and other tourist traps. One local restaurant/bar, Charley's, is frequented by Willie Nelson when he visits the island. The eponymously named "fish market" at Paia's main intersection is moderately well known throughout the island for its mexican and hawaiian food.

Paia is the last town on Hana highway when heading eastbound towards Hana.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 17.5 km² (6.8 mi²). 15.7 km² (6.1 mi²) of it is land and 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it (10.06%) is water.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 32.2% from 25 to 44, 22.0% from 45 to 64, and 8.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 104.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.3 males.
