Kapalua is a census-designated place (CDP) in Maui County, Hawaii, United States. The town is a resort development by the Maui Pineapple and Land Company in Lahaina, Hawaii, bounded by the Honolua Bay surf spot. The population was 467 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.1 km² (2.3 mi²). 4.4 km² (1.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.6 km² (0.6 mi²) of it (26.92%) is water.

Kapalua Bay is a pristine golden stretch along the west coast of Maui with a spectacular view of Molokai and Lanai. It is protected in a natural lava cove. Kapalua Bay has been voted the "Best Beach in the World" by the readers of Conde Nast Magazine, "America's #1 Beach" on the very first annual list of Dr. Beach's Top 20 Beaches in America, and the "Best Beach in America" by The Travel Channel, among other honors.

Kapalua Beach was previously known as Fleming Beach, but was renamed when the Kapalua resort was built. Another site about a mile to the north was then renamed "Fleming Beach," ostensibly to divert tourists who had heard of the beautiful beach.
