Milledgeville is a city in Baldwin County in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is the county seat of Baldwin County. It is northeast of Macon, between Eatonton and Hardwick along U.S. Highway 441 on the banks of the Oconee River. It was the capital of Georgia for some time, notably during the Civil War.

Lockerly Arboretum - Lockerly Arboretum (50 acres) is a private, nonprofit arboretum located on Business Highway 441 South, Milledgeville, Georgia. It is open daily, except Sundays, without charge. The arboretum was chartered in 1965 on the grounds of the antebellum Lockerly Hall (circa 1839). In 1998, Col. Oliver N. Worley donated an additional 200 acres to the foundation for an Environmental Education facility.

Bartram Forest - is one of only a few places where hunting is not permitted. Third, researchers use the forest to learn about plant diseases and genetics. Finally, it is a favorite destination for outdoor education and recreation, especially among members of the Georgia College and State University community. Bartram Forest also contains a stone labyrinth, used for meditative and other purposes.
