Rancho Mirage is a city in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 13,249 at the 2000 census, but the seasonal (part-time) population can exceed 20,000. In between Cathedral City and Palm Desert, it is one of the eight cities of the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area). Rancho Mirage was incorporated in 1973 from a merger of Mirage Cove with five unincorporated areas known as the "Cove communities" (Desert, Magnesia, Palmas, Tamarisk and Thunderbird), but had 3,000 permanent residents at the time.

The Rancho Mirage Art Affaire is the City's premier community event, presented by the City's Community Parks and Recreation Commission, that features a showcase of high quality art with participating artists from the Southwest states. Throughout two days, musical entertainment features some of the most current artisans in jazz music, fine wine, and cuisine from some of the area's finest local restaurants.

The Rancho Mirage Art Affaire is generally held on a Saturday and Sunday in November at the beautiful Whitewater Park. Whitewater Park is located at 71-560 San Jacinto Drive in Rancho Mirage.
