Pleasanton is a city in Alameda County, California and was incorporated in 1894. It is a major suburb (or edge city as many now call it) in the San Francisco Bay Area and located about 25 miles east of Oakland. In 2005, Pleasanton was ranked the wealthiest middle-sized city in the United States by the Census Bureau. Pleasanton is a community of 67,700, situated in the Tri-Valley Region of the Bay Area in Northern California.
