Lodi is a city located in San Joaquin County, California. As of the 2000 census, the city had a population of 56,999. As of a 2005 estimate the city had a population of 62,133.

Lodi is best known as a center of wine production (the Zinfandel Capital of the world), although its vintages have traditionally been less prestigious than those of Sonoma and Napa counties. However, in recent years, the Lodi Appellation has become increasingly respected for its Zinfandel wine and other eclectic varietals.

No matter what time of year, there are always plenty of places to go, things to do, and lots of ways to enjoy Lodi and its people. Starting in January there are many key events recognizing accomplishments of our people and celebrating their successes. Such is the Outstanding Citizen of the Year Celebration. This is one of many entertaining events held at Hutchins Street Square during the winter months. The Square presents world class talent as well as home spun theatrics.

Around Valentines Day the Lodi Appellation Winery Association will coordinate its 25 or so wineries a Wine & Chocolate extravaganza. Our areas finest wines are paired with decadent chocolate concoctions making for a deliciously and possibly romantic experience!
