Marana is a growing town located northwest of Tucson in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The Town incorporated in 1977. The population was 13,556 at the 2000 census. A July 1, 2005 estimate by the Pima Association of Governments put Marana's population at 26,725. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 26,098. Marana was the fourth fastest-growing place among all cities and towns in Arizona of any size from 1990 to 2000.

The town extends along Interstate 10 from the line between Pinal and Pima County to the Tucson city line, which starts around Rillito River. The city has a more rural character than Tucson and a rich history of farming and ranching. Business have been attracted to the town because of its well-managed growth. The Tucson Mountains and the western half of Saguaro National Park are located to the west. Southern Marana has grown over the past few years with the addition of businesses and housing.

Marana was named for the Spanish word maraña ('thicket') by 19th century railroad workers who had to clear a line through the area.
Pinal Airpark (Evergreen Air), where many commercial airlines send their airplanes for storage, is located just north of Marana in Pinal County, Arizona.
