The City of Aberdeen is located in Grays Harbor County on the southern edge of the Olympic Peninsula, at the convergence of the Wishkah and Chehalis Rivers. Aberdeen is the homeport of the tall ship Lady Washington, a reproduction of a smaller vessel used by the explorer Captain Robert Gray, which was featured in the films Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Aberdeen is also the birthplace of musician Kurt Cobain.
