North Sydney (2001 pop.: 6,775) is a community in Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

Located on the north side of Sydney Harbour, along the eastern coast of Cape Breton Island, North Sydney is an important port in Atlantic Canada as it is the western terminus of the Marine Atlantic ferry service. It acts as the marine link for the Trans-Canada Highway to the island of Newfoundland.

Marine Atlantic ferries currently operate from North Sydney's terminal to the ports of Port aux Basques and Argentia. The company is one of the largest employers in the area.

Chapel Point
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. Barracks that were used during the war. They are clearly visible and accessible.
Post Office Building
Fraser Ave. Sydney Mines. Built in 1904, it is noted for it's architectural design. Restored in 1989, now houses CBRM.
Miner's Memorial Monument
Pitt St. Sydney Mines. Erected to remember the miners who died in the mines. June 11 is Davis Day, observed in communities where there were mines.
McCormick House
Main St. Sydney Mines. Served as an office for the GMA.
Annandale House
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. A Queen Anne home built by Louis Johnston in the early 1880's.
Gowrie House
Shore Rd. Sydney Mines. Built in 1834.
