Its local newspaper is called the Drayton Valley Western Review. Drayton Valley's main attraction is the Omniplex, a community sports centre which specialises in ice hockey, ringette, and curling; the area also supports soccer, baseball, and rodeo. It also has a public swimming pool, a skiing hill, and the Drayton Valley Golf and Country Club. Drayton Valley is part of the Drayton Valley-Calmar electoral district.
